Schema & Facets

Every field XSearch discovers in your catalog appears in the Search Schema page: BigCommerce native fields, product custom fields, variant options, and enriched attributes.

Facet types

• Checkbox / Multiselect — classic value lists, with counts.
• Text & color swatches — compact chip-style selection.
• Range / Slider — numeric fields like price or spec values.
• Category tree — hierarchical navigation matching your BC category tree.

Good defaults

XSearch proposes facets from your schema automatically; your storefront shows every field marked "facet" that isn't suppressed. Hide a field everywhere by suppressing it; hide it per category or brand with per-category facet configuration.

Value handling

• Delimited values ("red; blue; green") can be split into separate facet values by configuring a delimiter on the field.
• Missing values can be surfaced as a "(No value)" bucket in the admin to find products with data gaps.

Type changes and delimiter changes take effect on the next full reindex.
